College can be a difficult time for a lot of people. Trust me. You're not alone. There are so many new life changes all happening at once. You've probably moved away from a lot of your friends. You now have to provide for yourself. You're in a new town. You're in harder classes. Homework never seems to end. The list goes on. Any of this sound familiar? I know I've experienced these things a couple times through out college. Some times it feels like its impossible to catch a breath, let alone be able to work on yourself and who you want to become. Here are some great ways I have found to become not only the student you want to be, but also the person you want to be.

1. Studying Strategies
You probably feel like you spend most of your time in class and studying. It is a lot more intense than your regular high school studying habits, and if you are anything like me, you didn't have any in high school.
Korra Shay has a great guide to help you study. Some of the things I like to do that she mentions are turning my phone off, and making my own study guide.
If you find that you still have stuggles memorizing concepts for a class, here are some great tips that should help you with that. I find that hand writing my notes then typing them up later really help me study and identify what things I need to focus more on.

2. Self Help Strategies
It is so important to give yourself some time to just be you. This is where a lot of growth, stress relief, and emotional support will take place. Life as a student can get very busy but always remember: you are never too busy for yourself.
A good way to focus on yourself is to just be alone. No, seriously. Be alone. That way you don't have to worry about what is going on in your friends lives. I love this list of activity ideas to do by yourself. Feel free to try a few and let me know which are your favorites in the comments!
Another way to focus on yourself is by working out. I have found that no matter what kind of mood I'm in, working out always makes me feel better. Whether you have a gym membership or not, here is a great little workout I have found. It will definitely make you break a sweat.
